Freightserve recruitment are looking for a Transport Controller for a well-established Courier company. The company is based in the Colnbrook, Berkshire area.

Transport Control handle over 200 calls per day from drivers, customers and internal departments. The purpose of the team is to ensure all work is collected by allocating between 800-1100 jobs per day to a team of 35 drivers across London, Bristol and Birmingham.

Allocating regular and ad-hoc collections for Drivers
Allocating rounds to contractors to cover for sickness and holidays.
Ensuring all previously allocated work is accounted for and checked off using both an in house system and external systems.
Supplying customers with waybills, courier bags and mailbags.
Signing for any incoming packages and informing the recipient of their arrival.
Use a forklift truck to load and unload vans/lorries.
Daily contact with Customer Services, Sales, Logistics and Operations in order to resolve customer queries and ensure all jobs are completed in line with customer expectations.

The successful applicant will have:

Previous experience within a similar environment
Strong communication skills both written and spoken
Good geographical knowledge (mainly London, Birmingham, Bristol and Home Counties)
Ability to work within a fast-paced pressurised environment
Flexibility in working hours as will be required to work the later shift to cover holidays 1pm to 9pm.

Working hours are Monday - Friday 0900 - 1800.
